So check out American Outlaws today. Learn the songs listed here. View the Chants below and get in on the movement on the road to the 2014 World Cup

Here is the newest song from The American Outlaws Chant Contest submitted be a member. We love this. It’s easy to see how much energy this song will bring when chanted by thousands of people. We hope to get this chant started in New Haven today.

The USA will stand our ground, the USA will not back down

We are the People’s team, We are the People’s team, We are the People’s team

We’re the Sons of Liberty

We are the People’s team, We are the People’s team, We are the People’s team

We’re the Songs of Liberty

United, United

The Outlaws are United

United, United

Forever Undivided

We are the People’s team, We are the People’s team, We are the People’s team

We’re the Sons of Liberty

REPEAT

Great Landon Donovan chant by AO NYC. Video validated by Stanky Leg.

He’s Landon Donovan

He’s All-American

He Scores for Everton

And Beats the Mexicans

Classic.

Another winner from the AO Chant Contest, an ode to Tim Howard & an ode to Timmy from South Park alllll at the same time.

I don’t think I could type this out better than he can say it, or we can sing it so leggo!

This chant, and the one above won the AO Chant Contest in January, and I believe this is the first US MNT game where the chants will be used.

Ti-meh, Ti-meh, Ti-meh, Ti-meh, Ti-meh, Ti-meh, TI-MEH!

That worked out.

Classic American Outlaws song sung over and over as US MNT team games. Doesn’t mean it isn’t fun. Any song that includes a bounce is automatically addicting. We love ya, that’s for sure.

We love ya, We Love ya, We love ya

and where you go we’ll follow, we’ll follow, we’ll follow

Cause we support the US, the US, the US

And that’s the way we like it, we like it, we like it

BOUNCE

All of this is way to fun for you to be sitting around and not joining in on the action. Get to your local AO Chapter today and celebrate America as USA take on Italy in Genoa. We’ll be here in New Haven, enjoying great drink specials at Anna Liffeys - $3 Bud Light Draft, $2.50 PBR, 10% off appetizers for the match. All ages are welcome in the restaurant part of the pub.

Pick up one of our Chapter scarves and tshirts today at the match. $20 for the scarves (normally $30) and $15 for the tshirts. The scarves are double sided, meaning you get both colors for one scarf. They are very high quality. I was really impressed to get my hands on one of these, and it’s worth bringing the $20 to get one today, because they’re normally $30 and they’re worth every penny. Excellent material provided by Ruffneck Scarves.

Hope to see you all at the game today!

High-res Join us at the first ever supporters club meet up for CFC Azul, Connecticut’s only soccer franchise. It should be a really good chance for locals to meet the people involved at the club and other fans. CFC Azul looks to build from some of the other soccer franchises in the U.S. and considers its fans to be the most important.
Things to be Discussed at the First Meet Up:
An Official Name for the CFC Azul Supporters Club to be Decided On by Fans
Official Songs for Connecticut FC Azul that are All About Connecticut and Written by You
A Chance to Meet with the Club’s Owner and Staff and Ask Questions about CFC
A Chance to Design and Request T-Shirts and other merchandise to be produced for CFC Azul
An Opportunity to be at an Inaugural Meeting of a Football Club
Most Importantly: an Opportunity to Meet Fans from All Over the State to Talk Football, and Enjoy Soccer
For those of us who love the beautiful game in the U.S. and in Connecticut, we don’t always get the opportunity to talk to people who love the game as much as we do. Here’s your chance to be surrounded by people who know the difference between the Champions League and the World Cup, The Offside Rule and Stoppage Time, Liverpool vs Manchester United, La Liga and Ligue 1. Yes, they know Messi, Rooney & Ronaldo, but can also talk about Silva, Gerrard, Malouda, Lampard, Bale, Modric, Xavi, Iniesta, Schweinsteiger, Gotze, Ozil, Ramos, Pique, Terry, Kompany, Lahm, Mexes, Ibrahimovic, Pato, Sneijder, Milito, and the list goes on and on and on and on….
This is something that can bring all those who love soccer in Connecticut together. The more we build, the bigger the network of fans we’ll be, and the bigger impact we’ll have.
MLS is Connecticut’s Best Chance at a Sustainable Professional Sports Franchise.
It Starts in the USL PDL, and we work our way up from there.

Stop SOPA: Know Your Football New Haven Against SOPA Act

I don’t get political, this is not a political blog. But sometimes something so big and so egregious happens in the world that a person would be doing society a disservice by not talking about it. SOPA effects all of us, and all of us should know what it is.

What is SOPA? If you want a clear understanding about SOPA, check out Gizmodo’s article here for a detailed explanation of SOPA and its ripple effect of consequences.

Essentially, if SOPA were passed it would allow government officials to remove any site it deems to infringe copy right laws in the United States. That means google, reddit, tumblr, twitter, facebook etc could all cease to exist at the same hands of the greedy U.S. government, the same hands who ruined our economy and lost a lot of jobs. Why? Well, that’s the best part.

The thing that makes SOPA so disturbing is because of why it’s even being proposed in the first place. Big movie studios, television networks, and record companies are sick about their information being available for free to those who can find it on the internet. Even if this information is from outside the United States. Essentially, they hate the guy in Berlin who can only torrent Terra Nova online because no one’s heard of it in Germany anyway. Because of this, they’re using their friends in Congress to generate a bill that will enable attack on anyone (including you) who uses their copyrighted material without permission. This could even include photos of your favorite actor, sports team, or youtube clip.

Essentially SOPA gives the government the power to swoop down and remove sites from the internet without needing permission from search engines like Google. Basically, if Google does not comply by removing infringing websites, Google can be shut down too.

SOPA also has dangerous future consequences for use of the internet in the future. Essentially, it could end up creating something like the Great Firewall of China in the U.S. The firewall in China is what the Chinese government uses to keep their citizens in the dark about what’s going on in the world, and only gives people what the government allows them to know.

Rupert Murdoch and FOX already influence enough of our thoughts as it is, Fox News, Fox Sports, Fox cinema, OK Magazine, TMZ, The Wall Street Journal, etc are all owned by Murdoch. Murdoch is an outspoken supporter of SOPA, and would have in enacted tomorrow. Why? Because he’s the only guy losing money. The big corporate whale. Even if Murdoch got SOPA, extras in his shows would still get minimum wage.

I would be blacking out Know Your Football New Haven today along with my favorite website, and favorite people. But El Clasico is on later in the day and I can’t miss that. Keep in mind that my site infringes on SOPA so bad, it would be one of the infinite number of sites up for removal now, and in the future.

So if you read this today, STOP SOPA. Keep the internet as open as your eyes, and do not allow yourself to be deceived by corporations influencing governments. Keep your eyes open, and remember this on election day.

OK, no more political stuff.

Today is Arthur’s Day - Get Yourself a Guinness

In 1759, history was made when Arthur Guinness signed a 9,000-year lease on the famous St. James’s Gate brewery in Dublin, Ireland. Thanks to Arthur, people everywhere have been enjoying the world’s most famous beer for more than 250 years. So each year, we celebrate the life and legacy of Arthur Guinness and his brewing tradition. Arthur Guinness Day brings people together in their local pubs, their cities and around the globe to share and toast the black stuff together.

So come out and celebrate Arthur Guinness day today in some of New Haven’s finest Irish establishments. Descend the steps in Anna Liffeys and be transported across the pond, have yourself a pint, relax and enjoy good conversation (17 Whitney Ave, New Haven.) Head over to Christy’s and be welcomed by warm faces and a friendly atmosphere, enjoy a chat with the barman & have a seat out on the patio today (261 Orange St, New Haven). A new place with familiar faces, O’Toole’s Irish Pub (157 Orange St, New Haven) sits in the picturesque Pitkin Plaza next to Devil’s Gear bike shop & 360 State St. Have yourself a perfect pint poured by some of New Haven’s best bartenders in a brand new bar with the perfect aesthetic feel to relax after work. Have a chat and get to know the friendly staff, and although it’s Arthur Guinness Day, don’t forget to try the whiskey.

Here’s some footage of the celebrations occurring all across Ireland today. Don’t forget to raise a toast - TO ARTHUR!!!

"It Smells Better on my Leg" - David Beckham Impersonates a Target Employee

In probably the greatest video you have ever seen. David Beckham dresses up as a Target employee and harasses innocent shoppers with his signature scent

Ellen does it again. In this switcheroo David says everything that escapes the show hosts lips trying to coerce customers into buying (or stealing) his cologne. The best part about this video is oh so fashionable david clad in a polo shirt, white sneakers and khaki’s waist high. I think he’s having a bit of fun with this one, considering he rarely gets to go out in public and talk to people.

Best bits:

"IF YOU STINK, COME AND BUY COLOGNE. IF YOU STINK COME AND BUY COLOGNE"

"It smells better on my leg"

"I’m from Austrailia but I can sound like I’m from Texas too partner"

"Hello. Hello? HELLO?"

"LAAAAADY IN REEEEEED"
