This mosaic was presented by the Kop end in Anfield prior to the Liverpool FC V Norwich City Premier League game on 22nd October 2011, commemorating those who died in the Hillsborough disaster. This was a tragic event that took place on April 15, 1989 where 96 Liverpool FC fans were crushed to death.

A man commits suicide after suffering for 20 years from depression after selling a friend a ticket to the 1989 FA Cup Semi Final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest in which 96 fans, including his friend, died.
This is just…heartbreaking. Justice for the 96 is one, extraordinarily important thing. But the amount of people affected is well into the thousands. This poor man was one of them.
I’m finding so many similarities in the early media coverage of the riots in England that there was in Hillsborough
No one knows really how it started, no one knows why it’s happening, the media is painting the wrong pictures & the international media is even worse. The fact is, no one knows the truth except the people in the streets and the folks looking down from their windows. No one seems to be in control. All we know is that we hope this crisis ends soon before more people get seriously injured or worse
